Terry Eagleton

Terry Eagleton was born on February 22, 1943. In 1964, he was appointed as a fellow in English at Jesus College, Cambridge. Today he is a professor at Lancaster University, and he has written over 50 books, as well as a novel, a couple of plays, and a memoir. He is one of England's most influential academics, and has written a great deal about literary criticism, especially in terms of Marx and ideology. -EB
